The plane trip was 13 hours and it felt longer. But the TVs attached to the back of everyones seat was cool - new for me.
Then I waited for the bus and took the bus to Pohang. It took 8 hours to get here and that was more than it would usually take (becuase of the vacationers Tom [see next hightlight for who Tom is] says). But once we got out of the greater Seoul area small steep hills started to pop up and then they turned into bigger Lord-of-the-Rings-like mountains. Then there are rice and other farms all around the hills. It's really beautiful - you'll have to take my word for it becuase I didn't get a good picture.
Tom is the son of the school director Joseph. They both picked me up from the bus station and brought me to my new apartment. They're very accomodating and they've done all they can to set me up in my apartment before I've even got here, which is very nice.
And here are pictures of my new home:
Coming through my front door. That's the bathroom/shower - they're the same thing (meaning there is no designated shower - this'll take getting used to)
Turn left and here's the main room.
Looking back at the front door. The hardwood floor is really nice, and I kinda like the flowery wallpaper.
And finally, here's the New York sized kitchen.
And that was my trip. It's all pretty overwhelming coupled with not much sleep over that time makes for a tired overwhelmed person. But it's good. I hear kids outside playing. And its cool to be in a whole new place.
Tomorrow Tom and Joseph are going to pick me up and bring me to the school. I'm sorta scared but looking forward to finding out more about my job.
And I'm planning on updating this blog at least once a week. I'll try to set up a schedule - so every Saturday is schedule as of now.
Thanks for reading.
